Eucalyptus, Peppermint & Tea Tree Essential Oils have been used for soothing respiratory worries for centuries now. One of the best ways to keep your nasal passage clear and keep infection away is to take steam once a day for just about a minute or two.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil is known to be a very good decongestant, helps reduce excess mucus in the respiratory system and calms down coughing. It is also known to fight infection and is known to be an immune stimulant.
Tea Tree Essential Oil is known far and across the world for its potent antibacterial, antiviral and airborne antimicrobial properties. Also a good decongestant and soothes coughing.
Peppermint Essential Oil is an excellent anti-inflammatory and has amazing decongestant properties. It also helps reduce headaches and is a great choice in the morning as it wakes you right up!
How to use
Take a wiff of each Essential oil and start to experience the individual aroma to familiarize yourself with them.
Its a great idea to take steam twice a day, once first thing in the morning and second before sleeping.
In a bowl full of hot water (not boiling though, let it cool down a little) add a drop of an Essential Oil of your choice and cover your head with a towel. Take in the steam, make sure to not go over 3 - 4 minutes.
Go with your intuition when choose which one you wish to go with for the day. Mornings can start with a drop of either Peppermint or Tea Tree Essential oil.
And nights you could use 1 drop of Eucalyptus Essential Oil to help relax the mind and clear congestion.
