Effective Essential Oil Blends to relieve Insomnia

We are living in a sleep deprivation epidemic that has significant ramifications on our health. Some of the day to day problems that are caused by less sleep are irritability, mood swings, decreased efficiency to name a few. Over long periods of time it can cause serious health concerns. 

Essential oils are known to assist calm anxiety and stress. These two in particular, Lavender and Cedarwood have stellar reviews in helping humans sleep sound. 

You can use these oils in one of the following ways

⏩ Add a drop to your pillow

⏩ Make a pillow mist with a few drops of Essential Oil and distilled water and spray on your pillow.

⏩ Mix a drop of Essential Oil in carrier oil and apply on your temples and nape of your neck. 


Be sure to sleep like a baby 👶 

Blend for

Insomnia

Take 50 ml Apricot Oil

Add 15 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil 

Add 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil       

 

Diffuser Blend for

Insomnia

In a diffuser top filled with water add

5 Drops Lavender

3 Drops Frankincense

3 Drops Cedarwood

 

How to use:  Apply on the nape of the neck, pulse points, temples, below the nose and bottom of your feet before sleeping.

 

Additional: Diffuse the above essential oil blend in the room where you sleep.

Lavender

Lavender is considered very good for calming & for balancing strong emotions, depression, anger and irritability, and also may help insomnia

Can be directly inhaled, used in massage oils or sprayed on linens.

 

Cedarwood

Cedarwood is a natural sedative, it helps create a peaceful atmosphere. It helps improve focus, memory and symptoms of ADHD.

Can be directly inhaled, diffused in a room or used in massage oils.

Frankincense

Frankincense soothes and calms nerves. It helps regenerate new cells, boosts immune system, and relieves pain and inflammation.

Can be directly inhaled, diffused in a room or used in massage oils.

 

Tips for Safe Essential Oil Usage:

  • Essential Oils are not for ingestion
  • For topical usage, always dilute essential oil with Apricot Oil or any other carrier oil of your choice.
  • Like with any new product, do a patch test before applying.
Hypertensive patients, pregnant
  • women, people with allergies, and people with special conditions should seek doctor’s advice before usage.

Important:

There is no fixed recipe when it comes to essential oils and what might work for you might not work for someone else. Since we are all biochemically exclusive, it's best to experiment with a variety of essential oils, pay attention to your body, and find the "personal blends" that work most optimally for you.

The thumb rule to keep in mind for all Essential Oil usage is the dilution should be kept at 5%. Essential Oils are very strong and potent and should be used sparingly. Please maintain caution on usage.
